In the UK, we have been fortunate this Springtime with lovely sunny weather, although some places remain cold early in the mornings.
There have been April showers of course, but they help to spur on the plant life by providing ideal conditions in which to flourish.
EARLY SPRING COLOUR:
DESPITE COLD and RAIN
However, despite some years having a wet, windy and cold Springtime, the emerging new life always appears.
It may be a battle for wildlife and their young, and plants and foliage may find it harder to display their green leaves and flowers, but despite the obstacles and unfavourable conditions, they manage to achieve their objectives.
As a species, humans respond to similar conditions.
When things are going well in life, we feel good and have a positive mind set. Life seems easier with less complications.
We enjoy life and interact well with work, family and friends.
However, just like the Spring season, there can be difficult times which affect our outlook and make it harder to achieve our goals.
We either give in to it and remain in a dark place, or roll with it and make the best of situations, by finding solutions and knowing that a better outcome will eventually come around.
I have made the observation that the natural world looks after its energy levels much better than humans.
Everything is made up of energy, including humans.
Energy levels vary, from high to low.
During the low times, energy must be built back up, as if not, stresses set in and an imbalance exists.
ENERGY LEVELS of THE NATURAL WORLD:
TREES SHED LEAVES IN WINTER TO CONSERVE ENERGY
Plants and trees have renewed and replenished themselves in the Winter months, so are ready to burst forth with new life and energy in Springtime, and are usually at at their best in Summer time.
In Autumn they start to slow down, and begin to go through a phase of decreasing energy levels, which gives the plant / tree time to rest and restore itself over the Winter season.
The plant rests before new life is started, and as winter passes, new energy levels get ready for a new year ahead.
Animals and birds tend to do the same.
Many animals hibernate over the winter months, others wind down.
Many birds make an incredible flight to other countries in order to recharge.
What do humans do?
They do not recognize that energy levels must be looked after and replenished.
Humans , more than ever, continue to work and live life at such a fast pace, not taking time out to recharge their batteries, so therefore become tired, exhausted, stressed and anxious.
In the natural world, plants, animals and marine life know that for them to exist and carry on living, they must be in the best health and peak condition. Anything less and they will not survive.
It is therefore important for them to observe the maintenance of energy levels in order to stay alive.
Perhaps in former times, humans were more attuned to the seasons and their surroundings.
AUTUMN and WINTER ENERGY SLOW DOWN:
AUTUMN HARVEST
Working life was of a manual nature, and tended to blend with the seasons such as working on the land.
Most work was done in the brighter months, and in the autumn and winter, a slower pace developed when maintenance and repairs were carried out to be ready for the following year, including the harvesting of food for the winter months.
Modern life does not reflect the changes to the seasons in the same way. Work is more sedentary and indoors. Weather and seasonal changes are not now considered so relevant to the work place.
If humans can do nothing else, they should at least go somewhere to enjoy the natural world and appreciate it for what it is.
CALMNESS of THE NATURAL WORLD:
RELAXING BEACH
By walking or being close to nature, some of the calmness and energy rubs off in a positive way.
All the senses take in the experience. Watching, listening, tasting, touching and smelling the natural surroundings, whether it is walking through a wood or enjoying watching the waves and the sea birds along the shoreline.
It is such an enjoyable way to relieve stress and boost energy levels, and also appreciate that nature has got it right and we as humans should learn and benefit from it.
